Welcome to the NextGen Gaming FAQ Hub
Got questions about our mobile gaming van or how our PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch parties work? You’re in the right place. Here you’ll find clear, quick answers to the things people ask us most — from booking details and party lengths to what’s included when the NextGen Gaming Van arrives at your door.
Whether you’re planning a birthday party in Bedford, Milton Keynes, or the surrounding areas, this page will help you understand exactly how our gaming experiences run so you can pick the perfect package with confidence.
Our gaming parties are designed for ages 7+. This is the sweet spot for the types of games we run and also ties in with our insurance and PEGI age ratings.
As standard we’ll have a mix of age-appropriate titles ready to go. If you’d like us to avoid certain games or stick to a specific age rating (for example PEGI 7 or PEGI 12 only), just let us know when you book and we’ll tailor the game list to your group.
Yes please – we do ask that at least one responsible adult is on site for the duration of the party.
You don’t have to sit in the van the whole time (that’s what our Game Coach is there for!), but we need an adult nearby in case of emergencies, toilet trips or if any issues crop up. You can grab a brew and relax while we run the gaming session.
Absolutely. Every booking comes with a NextGen Game Coach who stays with the van from set-up to pack-down.
They’ll welcome the players, run the games, help with controllers, keep an eye on behaviour and make sure everyone is safe and having fun.
If we can safely park outside your home or very close by, you’re probably good to go. We need:
A reasonably flat parking space for a large van
Enough room to get in and out of the doors
Ideally access to a standard household plug (we can discuss options if this isn’t possible)
If you’re not sure, send us your postcode and a quick note when you enquire and we’ll confirm if the NextGen Gaming Van can reach you.
The NextGen Gaming Van can comfortably host up to 10 players gaming at once.
For parties with more children, we normally rotate them so everyone gets plenty of time on the consoles without the van feeling overcrowded.
We’re based in Houghton Regis, and cover Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. Please Review our areas we cover page for a full list.
if you’re a bit further out, still get in touch – we may be able to travel to you, and we’ll just confirm any small travel charge when you enquire.
We run a mix of next-gen consoles, with multiple PlayStation 5s, Xbox’s and Nintendo Switch plus other consoles in the van, giving us up to 8 gaming stations depending on the setup for your party.
That means loads of choice and plenty of screens so everyone can jump into the action together.
To keep the van and equipment clean and safe for everyone, we don’t allow food inside the gaming van.
Birthday cake, snacks and party food work best outside the van before or after the gaming session.
Definitely. You don’t need to be a hardcore gamer to enjoy a NextGen party.
We’ve got a mix of easy pick-up-and-play games, local multiplayer titles and fun party games, and our Game Coach is great at helping complete beginners. Some kids love getting stuck in, others prefer watching their mates play – both are absolutely fine.
If you’ve got a mix of abilities or ages, just let us know and we’ll choose games that everyone can enjoy.
We normally need access to one standard household plug to power the van. We carry a long outdoor cable so it doesn’t have to be right next to the parking space.
If you think power might be an issue, drop us a message with a bit of detail about your driveway / street and we’ll talk through options before you book.
Yes, we can run midweek gaming parties as well as weekends.
After-school slots are really popular (for example 4–6pm or 5–7pm), and we can also do daytime bookings in school holidays or for home-educated groups, clubs and youth organisations.
Tell us your preferred day and time and we’ll let you know what we’ve got free.
Yes – the NextGen Gaming Van is a brilliant add-on for weddings.
We can keep the kids entertained during photos and speeches, or give teens (and big kids!) something fun to do in the evening. Let us know your venue and timings and we’ll build a package around your day.
We do. NextGen works really well for:
